EQUASHIELD®’s Luer Lock Adaptors, LL-2 and LL-2S, provide a secure connection to patient lines for safe injection using an EQUASHIELD® Syringe Unit (SU) or safe infusion with an FC-1 or FC-1S. LL-2 and LL-2S can be safely attached to any standard luer lock access port. The LL-2 remains stationary while the LL-2S spins freely, while remaining locked onto the luer port. Both adaptors are specifically designed for the safe and secure administration of hazardous drugs.

Dry Connectors Prevent Drug Residues, Spills, Leaks and Needle Sticks

EQUASHIELD® ensures leak-free and dry transfer of hazardous drugs via a unique locking mechanism with dual membranes for multiple accesses and connections in a simple sliding motion.

All EQUASHIELD® connections are made with a single sliding motion. When two connectors are engaged, the locking mechanism presses the elastic membranes on the corresponding surfaces into a tight, locked position. Needles pierce through the compressed membranes only after the membranes are tightly engaged. During the needle retraction, needles are wiped against the resealing membranes. This prevents the contact of hazardous drug to the membrane’s outer surface,  leaving the surface area dry and clean of any drug residues. Additionally, EQUASHIELD® is a needle-safe system where needles remain shielded inside component housing and beyond reach
