PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Pharmacy Technician provides clinical support to Equashield clients and team members

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA

Position Summary:

Pharmacy Technician provides clinical support to Equashield clients and team members for the implementation of the Equashield Closed System Drug Transfer Device (CSTD) ensuring support services are provided in accordance with pharmacology standards and company policy. This role is based out of any large metropolitan area in the western US.

Essential Functions

General Responsibilities:

  • Provides product support and education as needed for new, current and prospective Equashield clients and new or current associates including but not limited to: types of product, use of and mechanical aspects of product;
  • Communicates and maintains relationships with existing customers via telephone, e-mail and on-sight regarding educational needs and training;
  • Communicates via telephone, e-mail, and on-sight with internal team members regarding educational needs, training, visit outcomes or pertinent client information Collaborates with internal staff and customers to develop clinical policies and procedures;
  • Coordinates clinical trials and implementations with existing and prospective customers as needed;
  • Performs wipe studies as assigned following company policy and procedure;
  • Pans, executes and follows up on new accounts within company guidelines;
  • Participates in trade shows to promote the company line, educate potential and existing customers in the medical community;
  • Reports complaints, regarding company products and service per company policy.

Staff Development:

  • Attends educational meetings , trade shows, or other as required by company policies;
  • Maintains knowledge base of oncology, safe handling and hazardous drugs;
  • Assists with writing and updating company policy and procedures as directed.

Safety:

  • Follows proper infection control procedure while conducting wipe studies, training, and on-site education;
  • Reports accidents while on the job to the management staff per company policy.

Special Activities:

  • Maintains confidentiality of necessary and proprietary information;
  • Understands and utilizes adult learning principles/concepts;
  • Thinks and acts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job;
  • Maintains schedules and documentation of work;
  • Manages time efficiently;
  • Communicates timely and effectively with manager and company staff;
  • Completes special projects as assigned.

Team Work:

  • Creates a positive image between co-workers;
  • Provides role modeling of team work, accountability and a positive attitude;
  • Provides positive inter-departmental communication;
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and encourages appropriate problem solving methods.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Current license as a Pharmacy Technician, and in good standing with the State Board in state which he/she practices;
  • Minimum two years clinical experience in Pharmacy, experience with chemotherapy preferred;
  • Demonstrates problem solving and decision-making with the use of critical thinking skills;
  • Understands oncology and the use of hazardous drugs across the healthcare setting;
  • Works independently and exhibits ability to multi-task in fast paced environments;
  • Exhibits skill with organization, documentation, interpersonal relationships and communication both verbal and written.

Travel Requirements:

  • Requires overnight travel 100%;
  • Current driver’s license required;
  • Modes of transportation include automobile, train, taxi, boat, and airplane.

CLINICAL NURSE EDUCATOR

Clinical Nurse Educator provides clinical support to Equashield clients and team members

Location: San Diego, California, USA

Position Summary:

Clinical Nurse Educator provides clinical support to Equashield clients and team members for the implementation of the Equashield Closed System Drug Transfer Device (CSTD) ensuring support services are provided in accordance with nursing standards and company policy. This role is based out of any large metropolitan area in the western US.

Essential Functions

General Responsibilities:

  • Provides sales and customer product support for existing and prospective customers;
  • Coordinates clinical trials and implementations with existing and prospective customers;
  • Conducts education as needed including producing training material for customers and Equashield team members;
  • Assists with training and orientation of new staff;
  • Collaborates with customers and internal staff to develop clinical policies and procedures;
  • Plan, execute and follow up on new accounts within company guidelines;
  • Performs wipe studies as assigned following company policy and procedure;
  • Communicates via telephone, e-mail, and on-sight with existing customers for education and training;

  • BSN;
  • Oncology or infusion experience;
  • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve and make decisions use critical thinking skillsUnderstand oncology and the use of hazardous drugs across the healthcare setting;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Excellent skills in organization, documentation, interpersonal relationships and communication both verbal and written;
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fact paced environment.
